Conference information

MSM Productions, Ltd. will be coordinating the ASL 4 Us: Pacific Conference (date TBA). The theme is “Better Education for Deaf Children through Residential and Charter Schools—and Other Alternatives.” ASL, Deaf Education, and Deaf Studies teachers and students, school administrators, classroom interpreters, trainers, trainees, advocates, supporters, and professionals involved with K-12 education and the Deaf Community throughout the U.S. and Canada are welcome to attend.

As the conference name suggests, the focus is on exploring and enhancing the available options in Deaf education: traditional residential schools, charter and magnet schools, public-school programs, private day schools, and home-schooling. Since this is a professional-development conference, RID CEUs and CMPs will be offered for attendees pursuing ASLTA and RID certification. Attendees will have an opportunity to earn workshop hours towards certification, discuss new curricula, learn how the system works, and how to set up a new charter school, and, of course, meet new people, network, and share ideas and experiences.
